I somehow saw this in a double-bill with Basic Instinct. After the experience I made a list of three names...

Joe Ezsterhaus
Paul Verhoeven
Renny Harlin

...who, if given the chance, I would beat to bloody pulps so that they could never hold a pen or a camera again. I wanted to tear my eyes out. At one point during this era (around the time that this one came out), I was just about one paycheck away from moving to Hollywood to try my luck as a writer/director.

My first order of business would have been to do everything I could to run Harlin out of the business.

Nightmare on Elm Street 4
Die Hard 2
Cliffhangar
Cutthroat Island
Deep Blue Sea
Driven

These movies, plus Ezsterhaus' and Ron Howard's, are the reason I can't watch Hollywood movies anymore.

On the other hand, the man did Ford Fairlane, which I gotta admit, I loved...
