So, I’m sitting here at work.. bored out of my skull. Sure, I should be working on this order in front of me.. sure, I should be entering all these approvals into the spreadsheet so the team can work on them. But.. Man I’m just all kinds of stupid distracted.

Kinda’ reminds me of when I worked for the state. Things would get really slow and boring sometimes, and I’d sneak in a book or something to read.

Hmm? What was that? “What kind of book?” you ask? Well, back then I was reading a lot of Rick Riordan. My buddy Laird got me hooked on his Tres Nevarre series.

Okay- check this out: English professor, Tai Chi master, private eye in San Antonio.

Come on! How much more bas@$$ can you get than that? Seriously? Mister Riordan’s novels have this really fun, ironic and tongue-in-cheek kinda’ humor to them that-

Well, it’s kinda’ like a drug. Good thing he’s got, like, seven books in the Tres Nevarre series. Keep that high going!

He’s also got a series for young adults. (his site says “books for children”, but I’ve seen some of these books, and they’re BIG! Like- thick! So, I think more Young Adult. Anyway, I’ve not yet gotten to look at any of those, but they also seem pretty neat.

So, there ya go. If you’re bored and stuff and want a book to hide under the desk at work. Check out something by Rick Riordan. OOH and totally check out the cat! I think that damn cat is the best character EVAR!
