With many thanks to Edgizmo on Twitter for this scoop, and for The Leaky Cauldron for having more information, it seems that Warner Brothers, in their ultimate wisdom, has decided to piss off a bunch of foaming at the mouth Harry Potter fan…atics.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been delayed.  WB Has decided that releasing the film in July of 2009 would be better *cough*for their pocketbooks*cough* and are also citing the 2008 Writer’s Strike.
