The Perfect Movie for Keanu Reeves. He doesn’t even have to emote! Cause it was all rotoscoped for him.
It’s REALLY hard to talk about this flic without dropping spoilers. So I’ma just go for it.
Okay, our hero is a strung out, drug addicted undercover cop. Nothing surprising or new or anything there. He lives with three other druggies, and is trying to route out who’s the “dealer”. Following me so far? Yes? Good. Cause don’t bother. They never resolve that plot.
Instead, we are taken on a potentially psychotic roller coaster ride! Is the cop a notorious drug dealer, murderor, kingpin and just doesn’t know it?! OOh! His room mate is trying to rat him out! He’s instructed to investigate HIMSELF! It’s freaky! It’s a conspiracy! It’s ALL an AnTiClImAx!
Ooh Ooh and okay, there’s a romance goin’ on! Cause there’s a girl in the house and he lurves her and she’s too strung out to lurve him back! Is he frustrated? So Are WEE! Does he win her heart in the end? Hayul Naah!
So, where does that leave us? Oh yeah! Wondering what the plot is! Well, if you MAKE it through the movie, the congradulations!! You’ll get the WHOLE plot in the last 10 minutes. SO you could even skip the whole movie up to the end, and you’ll STILL get the whole plot.
All that having been said. I enjoyed the flick. It was a fantastic movie. Don’t watch it for plot, though. Just watch it for characters. It’s pretty entirely character driven. Now, I’m not saying it’s shallow. It is, in fact, crazy complex when you get down to it. But, it’s a movie about dementia, so all these tightly wound balls of story unravel as their minds do. But, damn it’s fascinating to watch.
